Henri Dutilleux
1916-2013
A contemporary French composer. In the torrent of change in modern music after World War II, he composed music by incorporating modern music techniques while valuing traditional music such as harmony and order of sounds. He did not belong to schools or groups that used 12-tone techniques, which had a strong influence on the music world at the time, and was a composer who pursued his own music. He also served as director of the music program of the French national radio, and despite his limited production, he covered a wide range of music genres. He doesn’t have many piano pieces, but his personality shines.
