William Gillock
1917-1993
American music teacher and composer. After graduating from college, he worked as a piano teacher for 21 years before devoting himself to composing. He composed many of his piano pieces for children. In addition to composing music, he was also active as a judge in competitions. The familiar works that do not require advanced techniques are characterized by beautiful melodies and modern harmonies and rhythms, and are loved not only in Japan but around the world.
【Q.What is your favorite piece？】
mezzopiano）〈Spanish gypsies〉. It was the first Gillock work I encountered in my life, and I really liked it, so I remember it well.
